THE BRIEF
A new arts trail was being produced along an old canal towpath in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, but the creators needed a way to get the community’s attention. HopeWorks was approached to raise awareness of the trail with a new identity, eye-catching signage, and printed maps to be delivered to local residents. It needed to be bright and bold while reflecting the history of the area – capturing the imagination of a new generation.
THE IMPACT
We developed the Mills, Mines and Malt identity into a single, bold logo that could be applied to all signage throughout the scheme and unify the trail. This was expanded with a colour-coded wayfinding system, which we developed in conjunction with the young people who worked creating the arts trail itself. HopeWorks managed the design, print, production, and delivery of the final signage to the site. Now the towpath has a new life, full of community-produced art that is supported by a clear identity and effective communication that conveys its history.
